Membership
Central City is eager to welcome everyone to our services and activities. As Christians, we are all sinners saved by God's grace and we want everyone to know the powerful gift of Jesus Christ who saves us from an eternal separation from God, our loving Father. We are open to receive as members anyone who has faith in Jesus Christ, acknowledging Christ's rule in their life, who works to turn away from their sins, and who has been baptized by immersion. Anyone who has been a member of another Christian church, falling under these same core requirements for membership, is also open to become a member of Central City.
We do request that a formal indication be made for membership. This is normally done by the person coming forward at our invitation time (directly after the sermon) during a Sunday morning service to publicly state their desire to be part of our official membership. The minister or an elder will meet them there, give their introduction to the congregation and ask the person for their acknowledgement of their faith in Jesus Christ. Membership may also be placed by attending a Church identiy class held periodically throughout the year.
Each member should live a dedicated, committed, and Christ-like life. Each member should serve in areas for which they are gifted. And each member should regularly support the church through financial gifts and offerings. Each member is expected to pray for the church leadership and staff, serving in the church with the gifts and talents given by God.
